1976 – 1982:Delegate of the Republic of Suriname to the 31st until the 37th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
September 1980:First Citizen of the Republic of Suriname to be elected to the Bureau of a Main Committee of the United Nations General Assembly as Rapporteur of the First Committee(International Security and Disarmament) of the 35th U.N. General Assembly.
February 1981:Promoted to first Secretary of the Embassy at the Permanent Mission of Suriname to the U.N. New York.
February 1983:Promoted Ambassador at Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paramaribo, coordinating Head of the coordinating Division for International Economic and Political affairs.
July 1984-Aug. 1986:Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Suriname to the European Union and the Kingdom of Belgium in Brussels.
